STEESMAT to be Presented at Energy House Day 2025
On April 25, the Sustainable Energy Catapult Centre will host Energy House Day 2025 – a key arena for innovation, industry and research within the green energy transition. Held at the Energy House test facility in Stord, Norway, the event will showcase cutting-edge technologies for energy systems, circular economy and sustainable industry.
Tore Boge from Maritime CleanTech will represent the STEESMAT project and present how the EU-funded initiative is developing a novel smart power distribution system for large vessels. With solid-state transformer technology, low-voltage DC grids, and seamless integration of batteries and fuel cells, STEESMAT aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and boost energy efficiency in maritime transport.
Sustainable Energy, a core partner in STEESMAT, will host the project’s land-based testing at the Energy House before the system is demonstrated onboard the vessel KV North Star.
Energy House Day 2025 offers a unique opportunity to explore next-generation maritime and industrial energy solutions – and to see how European collaboration is accelerating the green shift.
