As shipping moves toward hybrid, electric and low-emission operation, DC-based power systems are emerging as an important enabler. What will it take to move from promising demonstrations to commercial deployment?

Join ALL-DC-SHIPS and STEESMAT for an interactive workshop bringing together shipowners, technology suppliers, class societies and other key maritime stakeholders at SMM 2026!

Together, we will explore how DC architectures can support future vessels by enabling more flexible integration of clean energy sources such as batteries and fuel cells. We will also discuss what the market needs next: demonstrated performance, interoperable solutions, and trusted certification pathways.

The workshop will provide insights into two EU-funded projects working to advance next-generation DC ship power systems. It will also offer an opportunity to share your perspective on the standards and market conditions needed as the industry moves from AC tradition to DC transition.

The formal programme will be followed by an informal networking reception, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation and connect with project partners and maritime stakeholders.
